Your First Appointment with Dr Genia Rozen

We are looking forward to seeing you and helping you wherever you are on your journey. To make the most of your first fertility appointment, here is everything you need to know before you arrive.

What to expect at your first fertility specialist appointment 

Your first appointment with Dr Rozen is a chance to be heard and to get a clear picture of where things stand. Dr Rozen will take a thorough medical history, review any investigations you have already had, and discuss what further testing may be needed to build a complete picture. You will leave with a clear understanding of your next steps and why.

Before your appointment

If you have had any recent tests completed, including blood tests, semen analysis, ultrasounds, MRIs, X-rays, or CT scans within the last six months, please email these to our administration team before your appointment date. Having these results available means Dr Rozen can review them on the day and make the most of your time together.

If you are coming in for a fertility consultation, we encourage you to attend with your partner where applicable. Both partners will need to be listed on the referral to meet Medicare requirements.

On the day

Please arrive 15 minutes early to allow time to complete your new patient questionnaire and any outstanding paperwork. We respect that your time is valuable and do our best to run on schedule. Occasionally, an appointment may run over, and where this happens we will let you know as soon as possible.

What to bring to your fertility specialist appointment

• A current referral from your GP or specialist
• Medicare, DVA, and pension cards
• Your private health insurance details
• Any recent test results or scans
• A list of all medications, including prescription, vitamins, supplements, and herbal medicines
• Any correspondence from other specialists involved in your care
• A list of known allergies
• A list of any questions you want to ask, so nothing gets forgotten on the day

Workers compensation 

If your appointment relates to a workers’ compensation claim, please bring your claim number, approval letter, insurer details, and the name and contact details of your case manager.

Telehealth consultations 

We offer video-enabled telehealth consultations. Please get in touch with our team to arrange one. Once booked, we will send through details of how to connect. If you do not receive these, please call us directly.

Fees and payments

• We are a private clinic and charge private practice fees.
• For in-person appointments, full payment is required on the day. We submit the Medicare claim on your behalf, and the rebate is usually deposited into your nominated bank account within two working days.
• For telehealth consultations, full payment is required in advance. You are welcome to pay at the time of booking, or we will contact you in the week before your appointment to arrange payment.
• Private health insurance does not cover consultation costs unless you are an inpatient in hospital.

Cancellations 

If you need to cancel or reschedule, please call us during business hours with at least 24 to 48 hours notice. This allows us to offer your appointment to another patient who is waiting. Same-day cancellations may attract a cancellation fee, which will need to be settled before a further appointment can be booked.

Post-operative appointments 

If you undergo a procedure, follow-up appointments will be scheduled as part of your care. These are an important part of monitoring your recovery and should not be missed.
